Steel Work Survey for Bespoke Development

Geomatic Surveys Ltd were asked to produce a 3D Model and 2D CAD,
Drawing showing the Steel Work position, alignment and verticality for a
Multi-Million Pound Bespoke Residential Development.             
An S6 Robotic Instrument was used to undertake numerous measurements of
the Steel Work from different locations to produce a full 3D Model, which
was then used to produce a 2D Line Elevation with dimensions for the Architect.

 

 

Blackburn Engineering Project

Geomatic Surveys Ltd have been involved in providing a full setting out,
Engineering Consultation and Surveying Support for a Multi-million Pound
regeneration project in Blackburn, Lancashire. The contract is estimated to              
take 2 years to complete and involves the use of a Trimble Robotic 5600
Total Station to accurately position roads, sewers, boundaries, buildings etc
as well as provide as-built information to other consultants.

 

Measured Building Survey - Commercial Premises

We have been involved in a number of complex and challenging Measured
Building Surveys for a variety of clients. We use a combination of Laser Scanning
Direct Reflex Instruments (Reflectorless Total Stations) and hand held Lasers to             
measure Floor Plans and Elevations. Any Shape, size and type of building can be
surveyed accurately and efficiently using one or all of these techniques.

 

Clyde Tunnel, Glasgow.

A full 3D Profile was required to allow for re-lining works. In partnership
with another company, Geomatic Surveys Ltd provided a full 3D Survey
Control Network, using a combination of GPS and Loop Traverse, through             
the entire length of the tunnel. This control network enabled the full 3D           
Model to be accurately formed and sections taken from it every 5 Metres

 

 

Bentley Car Factory - New Production Line

A number of our services were utilised at The Bentley Car Factory, Crewe.
We have been involved in providing Measured Building Surveys and
 Elevations of the existing Factory buildings; Topographical Surveys of the
proposed development areas and supervision of the construction of the
steel framed building to house the new production line.

 

Flood Risk Survey, Birmingham

We were asked to provide a full Longitudinal and Cross Sectional
survey of a number of watercourses which could potentially cause
a flood risk to a large number of homes. The survey was undertaken              
using a combination of GPS and Total Stations to capture the data,
as well as a comprehensive survey of all structures.

 

Green Park Underground Station, London.

The challenge on this project was to provide 3-dimensional control
 to a total number of six London Underground Platforms, as well as the
  main concourse areas. This involved some lengthy and complex loop        
traversing through a series of tunnels and down escalators, all between
the hours of 1am and 5am in the morning!

 

Topographical and Measured Building Surveys

We have been involved in a large number of residential property
surveys, providing full Topographical, Elevational and Floor Plan
surveys, for the purpose of both full technical drawings and for               
Planning Submissions. A full package can be a very cost affective
way of collecting highly accurate survey information for your property.

 

Retail Unit, Mid Wales.

Usually surveys are performed between the hours of 8am and 5pm, however
we can work hours to suit the clients requirements. This is particularly so
in the retail market. However, in this instance we were granted access       
during normal hours and worked around the staff and customers to provide
             a Topographical Survey, Elevations and Floor Plans.

 

Quarry Face Survey, Ramsbottom.

One of the major limitations of Laser Scanners is the range the Laser
is able to measure. We had a situation where a client required an accurate
survey of a quarry face, but we were unable to access the quarry floor for             
Health and Safety reasons. We found the Trimble S6 Robotic Instrument
was more than capable of measuring remotely the 350m plus required.
